More details are in the final details document: Oldacre 24Nov24 Final Details v5. Updated 23th Nov 10am.
Latest update 24/11/24 @8.20am is:
Acccess: The rain overnight has caused some flooding on the road near the field. Cars are getting through at the moment, and the field is OK for now. If possible, access the event from Brocton Crossroads as this avoids the worst of the floods. W3W: motoring.land.puns
Weather: Storm Bert is forecast over the weekend. It is highly likely to be windy, cold and wet on Sunday. Perhaps with the promise of some sunshine later on. Please do car share where possible, to reduce the impact on the parking field. Please be prepared for the conditions. Warm layers, waterproofs, hat and gloves are recommended but not mandatory at this stage – but be prepared for this policy to change and to be enforced.
Traders: Compass Point Orienteering and Running Kit Supplier will now be attending, along with Podium Catering and the West Midlands Junior Squad’s cake stall. Please do bring along your cash and change for the cake stall, to support these.

For newcomers: How to choose an orienteering course
Courses are graded by a colour indicating the increase in technical and physical difficulty. ‘White’, ‘Yellow’ and ‘Orange’ courses are designed for complete beginners. These courses are usually short (up to 2.5K in length) with control points (orange and white flags) on paths or visible from the path. Light green is a bit harder. Green, blue, and brown courses are the hardest, the only difference being the increased course length. These are only recommended if you have some experience.
Course lengths for this event will be published as soon as we have them.
