It’s been a busy summer for Chasers, so here’s a quick roundup of what we’ve been up to….
The World Orienteering Champs were held in Edinburgh in mid-July. Member of the club were involved in key roles, with Stodge & Sue key to the IT responsibilities, Andy & Alison as Start Team leaders, and Carol & Mark part of the daily start team. Fantastic week – you can see the TV coverage on EurovisionSport.
There was then a split – some members headed to South Wales for the 6-day Croeso – well done for podium places which went to Fraser 2nd M14, Birbahadur 3rd M35S, and John 2nd M70S. Meanwhile 6 of us headed to Southern Sweden for the huge 5-day O-ringen (14,000 competitors), which included a fun indoor-O to test the brain. Sweden probably had the better weather vs Wales! 🙂
Our juniors have been busy too, with multiple competitions including a team going to the overnight Peter Palmer Relays in the Lakes.
Finally, last weekend was the West Midland Relays in a somewhat wet Kidsgrove. Well done to our 2024 champions: Olivia W16, Jonah M16 and John M70.
