
The Annual Jan Kjellstrom festival of orienteering was held in the Midlands this year with over 2400 competitors coming from all over the UK and beyond. Day 1 was a sprint race at Loughborough Uni, Days 2 &3 were a Middle and Long Race on our very own Beaudesert, and the Relays were on Stanton Moor. Chasers were closely involved in the organisation, with Andy as overall Co-ordinator, and on days 2 & 3, Ray as Planner, and Kristian as organiser. Thanks to everyone that helped make the event run smoothly – and the sun even shone!
17 Chasers ran the Sprint, with the top 10 places for Tammy Short (4th W35), Iain Stamp (6th M40), James Bennett (8th M35), and 9th for Fraser Stamp (M14) and Dave Smith (M70).
27 Chasers ran the Middle Race and 25 in the Long. In the combined results top 10 places went to Kaji Limbu (2nd M35S), 3rd for Dan Findlay-Robinson (M40S) and John Robinson ( M70S), 4th for Andy Yeates (M60S) and Sally Hughes (W50S), 5th for Claire Stamp (W40S) and Tracy Craig (W55S), 7th for Tammy Short (W35L), and 9th for Harry Lowe (M60S), Holly Hughes (W21S) and Alison Yeates (W55S).
In Monday’s relay we had a cracking 7 teams, with the best position going to the Veteran Women team of Tammy, Hazel and Carol who got 7th.
