Last week saw around 30 Chasers in South Wales for Croeso 2016, the 5-day orienteering festival held every 4 years. This year had 4 races close to Bridgend (2 in the sand dunes of Kenfig and 2 in the woods of Margam) and one on the moorlands above Tredegar. We had a great week, which even 2 days of rain couldn’t dampen, with good orienteering challenges, pretty good underfoot conditions and good organisation from an army of volunteers. There were a lot of great performances, with an overall podium position for Iain Stamp who came 2nd on M35L – well done Iain! Other overall top ten’s were:

4th – W35S Claire Stamp, W45S Tracy Craig, W55S Christine Collins
6th – M14B George Hughes, M18L Matt Hartland, M65L Bob Dredge, W45S Alison Yeates, W60L Carol Dredge
9th – W18L Gemma Cairns-Smith
10th – W18L Holly Hughes
Special mention should also go to the 3 Chasers who won individual days – Iain Stamp on day 2, Bob Dredge on day 3 and Tracy Craig on day 1.
