Doug after finishing today at Mansty Wood

What a lovely warm and sunny day at Mansty Wood today and a large turnout of Chasers too. All there.of course, for Doug Peel who is 80 years young today.  Happy birthday Doug.

“Pats on the back” this week goes to Iain Stamp, Mark Stodgell and Mike Barnby for making it onto the podium at the British Relays last Sunday.  Other good results were on the Junior Ad Hoc where Holly H, Esther M and Megan C came 6th;  our M60 team of Ray, Jon H and Bob D came 8th;  the ladies W50 of Mary A, Christine C and Carol D came 7th.

Other good results in the individual races at the British last  week were:

Mark Stodgell winning M40S, Neil Adams came 11th on the M55S, Maddy Batchelor came 3rd on W12B, Claire Stamp was 4th on W35S.  On the W45S Alison Yeates came 2nd and Sally Hughes finished just behind in 5th place, and on the  W55S Christine Collins finished in 4th place.

Events next week are limited to the usual round of local club training nights are the region.  Look at the relevant web site if you want to run.  Next Sunday there is an Urban race in Whitchurch, the second race in the WMOA Urban League.  Alas, I can find no details and the link at BoF fixtures does not work.

Tuesday training this week is a middle race parking in Satnall Hill Quarry opposite the Punch Bowl.  Next week the 17th is at Seven Springs.
