Well done to all the Chasers juniors who took part today in the British Schools Score Champs – Chasers were a very visible club in terms of the results, and there were plenty of familiar faces on the podium.
Holly Stodgell (Year 7 girls) and Meg Colclough (Year 8 girls) are now both British Schools Champions for Walton High. Meg was joined on the podium by Holly Craig in 2nd (for Weston Road) and Amy Mitchell in 3rd, with Charlotte Cairns-Smith (Abbotts Bromley School for Girls) just missing out in 4th.
Carolyn Codling-Loidi won a fantastic silver medal on the Year 6 girls running for Oakridge.
The boys did well, too, with Joe Holland finishing in 3rd place for the Year 8 boys, while the trio of Ethan Evans, Henry Webb and Adam Mardling were 4th, 5th and 6th for the Year 7’s (all from Walton High).
Other top 10 finishes came from Beth Colclough (10th in Year 5 girls), Will Downing (7th in Year 5 boys), Laura Shermer finished 9th running with Megan Dale in the Year 8 girls, and Alfie Spencer was 9th in the Year 8 boys. Sastin Codling-Loidi finished in 10th in Year 9 boys running for Adams Grammar School, and in the Year 10/11 girls, Heather Craig finished 6th (Weston Road) with Gemma Cairns-Smith 10th. For Matt Hartland in the Year 10/11 boys, it was a 5th place finish with a score that would have seen him in 2nd place in the Year 12/13 boys competition!
There were other Chasers out running, too, but 17 club members finishing in the top 10 on the day is a fantastic achievement! Well done everyone 🙂 Also, many thanks to HOC for staging the event, results can be found here.
