A number of Chasers made their way to Sheffield to compete in the British Orienteering Championships on the tough, physical terrain of Wharncliffe & Greno for the individual races & the technical challenge of Tankersley.
We had some individual podium positions, with both Stodge & Cath winning their 35 Short classes. Other top 10 performances came from:
3rd Matt Hartland, M14B
4th Bob Dredge, M60L, Holly Stodgell, W10B, Kelvin Dawson, M35S and Christine Collins, W50S
5th Norman Hall, M75L, Claire Stamp, W21V and Alison Yeates, W40S
6th Gareth Little, M21L
10th Hazel Waters, W60L & Tracy Craig, W40S

The relay saw 9 Chasers teams out, with some excellent runs. It was fantastic to see a competitive Mens Premier team out (Rhys Findlay-Robinson, Iain Stamp & Mike Barnby) beating some very good teams & finishing mid table.
The best result was from the Mens Short Open team (Mark Stodgell, Allan Williams & Gareth Little), who were pushing for a podium place until the previous days effort took its toll on Gareths legs, dropping them a little further down the field.
There were other top 15 finishes for the Womens Short Open team (Beth Clayton, Carol Dredge & Cath Williams) & one of our Mini Relay teams (Heather & Holly Craig & Katie Lord).

We’re now looking to next years British Championships to be held over the May Bank Holiday weekend in the Lake District.
