Captain’s weekly 27th June 2016

Captains WeeklySuper-sub Tom take’s over…..
Since our esteemed captain is away this weekend (dancing to Adele at Glastonbury), and sporadically until September, I am taking over the Sunday emails to ensure everyone receives the “pats on the back” to which they are entitled. Apologies that this inaugural edition is a day late.

So without further ado, overdue “pats on the back” go to all those who ran well at Sandwell last week, particularly Ray Collins who won the Green, and Henry Webb who came 5th; Simon Webb for a close 3rd on the Brown, narrowly beating guest member Alistair Ross into 4th; Jonathan Howell and Andrew Yeates for 3rd and 5th respectively on Blue; and Amy Ward for a strong 4th on the Light Green.

At LEI’s urban race in Ashby de la Zouch there was also a strong Chasers showing, particularly in the Dredge household: Carol was victorious on her course, Sarah produced an excellent 2nd, and Bob finished 8th, just behind young James Bennett. Andrew Yeates won his class; the two Jo(h)ns- Robinson and Howell came 2nd and 3rd amongst the ultra vets; and Amy Ward took 5th on the Women’s Open. Hearty “pats on the back” all round.

Please be sure to share your good results at other races.

Tuesday training for the next couple of weeks is score events. At the Rifle Ranges tomorrow, and Chase Vista the following week. Details on the website.

The only nearby upcoming race appears to be this Sunday – POTOC are organising an urban race in Leek, which is part of this year’s WM urban league.

Finally, don’t forget to tell Ray if you’d like to run in the rescheduled Shugborough Relays on the 6th July. Deadline is the 1st of July.
