Following the postponement of todays event at Mansty Wood it has been a quiet weekend with blue skies and lovely weather. However, last Friday lunchtime five of us went to the proposed parking area and discovered a sea of soft mud, puddles and standing water. The main field was unusable and the back up field needed a lot of dry weather to become useable. As the forecast was poor for the rest of Friday it was decided unanimously to call the event off. On Saturday I returned to the fields with Ian Jones, the Organiser, and they were even wetter and squidgier than the day before. We are hoping to run the event on Sunday May 8th.
“Pats on the back” this week go to Mark Stodgell for 8th on M40 at the Northern Championships, Holly Stodgell for 12th on W14L and to Claire Bushnell our only other finisher.
