Street Score League results

DSC04266_editedResults from Rowley Park & the Highfields Estate:

Kelvin has wheeled out his soapbox and finished his account of the evening…… A fun night was had by everyone I spoke to with a  few new faces along. As a  first for the Thursday nights series  juniors also competed in the inaugural Junior Night Champs.

Adam and Henry ran together which meant they shared the boys prize while Holly Craig competed alone to won the girls trophy. We will be having more night events that can accommodate juniors in the future.

The event was split into two different stages with the streets of Highfields being one half and proving to be suitably tricksy. I was happy about this considering the first time I went out there was when I was putting out the controls!

The other half was made up of 5 maps of park sprint orienteering around Rowley Park which most people got to have a run around and enjoy the mud.

Rowley is one of the many areas that we will be shortly creating a permanent course in with the help of the Barbara Bradley Fund, and while its small it has potential for training and also increases our visibility with the many athletic clubs that use the park. The head ranger for here also looks after Wildwood where we will shortly be having the first leg of our three part urban series and he is very keen for us to use both areas.

Anyway congrats to Simon for an excellent winning run and to Cath for being first woman.
