Details

Additional safety notices – competitors on the Brown & Blue courses will face an un-manned road crossing with a pair of controls on either side of the road providing a 3 minute timed window for all competitors to safely traverse.  Competitors need to take care when crossing to avoid vehicles and pay strict attention to safety signs and notices on the day.  Please note that all other roads are Out-Of-Bounds except for this Blue/Brown crossing point.

Any uncrossable fences must not be crossed by competitors. Please report any damage to other fences to the organiser, and be on the look out for horse riders and mountain bikers who are present on the course area on the day.

Due to Ash Tree Die-back issues – all competitors are requested to thoroughly clean their shoes before leaving the car park to reduce the risk of the disease spreading further.

St John’s ambulance will be present on the day in the assembly area.

From the parking & assembly area to the main start point is approximately a 15 minute walk along the marked footpath (approx 600 metres).  Competitors for the Blue & Brown courses will start at a separate point (directions will be provided on the day), and will need to allow a further 15-20 minutes walk partially along the A34 to get there from the main start (approx 1 km further on) – see http://www.scribd.com/doc/113712911/Badgerslade-Orienteering-Event-Map

Please note that to avoid waste we will print the maps per course that we reasonably expect to need.  If anyone is bringing large groups of people to the event, especially Juniors on the White, Yellow & Orange courses, please let the organiser know so we can arrange for extra copies to be printed.

Catering for the event will be provided by house-of-coffee.co.uk with a charity cake stall from the West Midlands Junior Squad.  Alison George from www.amgfitness.co.uk will also be there to help runners recover from the exertions of the day.

Parking for the event is situated in a field across from the entrance to Buxtons Garden Equipment (Coppice House, Teddesley Coppice, Stafford ST19 5RP www.buxtons.net‎) on the A34.
