Try Pickleball – a new, fun game, easy to pick up and play

The Club has agreed to trial a new game, called Pickleball, for the Tuesday evening training during the February half term when Walton High School gym will not be available.  It’s a game that’s like a simpler, slower form of tennis played on a badminton court with a perforated plastic ball and hard bats.  It’s easy to learn and play. More info at http://pickleball.org.uk/ .

We’ve booked 2 courts for two hours from 5.30 to 7.30 pm in the sports hall at Beaconside Sports Centre (near the old Staffs University building).  Turn up for just half an hour or the full two hours if you’re keen. Anyway, come and have fun.  It should be fine for most ages and juniors especially if they have hit a ball before.

We can support two games of doubles at one time and if we have more than enough people can swap pairs in and out as games are completed.  Several of us have already played the game and it takes no more than 5 minutes to explain the rules and how to play.

Come and try a new game as the Club looks at new options for widening the scope of Tuesday night winter training.
