Planners Comments Organisers Comments. After weeks of mild and dry weather autumn arrived on the day with all guns blazing giving our planner, controller and organising teams a thorough drenching whilst final arrangements where made prior to competitors arriving. We thank them all for maintaining their sense of humour during the event. On arriving at 7.30, waiting for the Ranger to unlock access gates we were greeted by spent fireworks all over the entrance drive. Despite him saying he would get it cleared away we were upset with it remaining all day and hope it didn't take anything away from your enjoyment of the event. With parking and competition areas being separated by a busy road and the necessity to have it manned, the original plan to have two crossings with competitors taking tracks was revised to that used on The high winds and exposed location meant we could not erect our normal download tent and a big thanks must go to Yani who volunteered the use of her camper for a dry and secure location to house our IT equipment. Finally we must thank all you for turning out to run despite an appalling forecast and were rewarded by a lull in the rain to experience what we thought were interesting and challenging courses despite the compact nature of the competition area. the day. A single crossing resulting in some trudging over heather
but ensured we had sufficient cover throughout to maintain safety, especially for our younger runners. I hope this arrangement did not cause too many difficulties for those with infants.
