After comfort food and a hot drink the best thing at the end of an event is to hear that most of the competitors have enjoyed the courses.
The area on the east side of Sherbrook is an interesting area to plan on with plenty of landscape features and variety of terrain. It seemed a bit of a disadvantage having two events on overlapping areas so near in time but it made us use the allotted area more intensively. The main shock was tree felling, which made some map amendments necessary - the most recent happening since the December event and not seen until the day before the championships. However, it made competitors think about route choices and sometimes regret theirs! It was a pleasure to have the two longer courses planned by Kevin Waters who has also shown potential as a mapper, supplying information to Neil.

Organisers Comments.
The Club Championships needs a smaller team than other events, but thanks must go to those who did volunteer as helpers. Thanks also go to those who put out controls (and got wet), those who collected them in (and got wet) and those who competed (who may have stayed dry). The Club Captain as handicapper produced some close handicap finishes. Particular thanks to the Stodgells for leaving the map printing so late to allow for the odd very late entry.
Several people seemed to want to celebrate their birthday by getting muddy on the Chase. Many happy returns to them all.
