This has been emailed out to everybody, but just in case you didn't get it, there's the details for Sunday
Chasers Juniors:
Final details for the Yvette Baker Trophy Final
Sunday, 6th December, 2009
OK, guys….
Sunday is fast approaching, so I thought I’d let you all know what’s going on on the day.
The coach will pick up the Staffordish based people from the Lyntern Tavern off Bodmin Avenue at 7.30am on Sunday morning. Time is tight, so we won’t be able to wait for anybody – you have been warned!!
Next stop will be Lichfield, to pick up Ceiran (I can phone Sue when we leave Stafford to save you standing around in the cold too long) and then on to Bassetts Pole to pick up Kieran at approximately 8.15am (ish!). It will then be off down the M40 and possibly picking up Adam from Slough Station before finishing the journey to Crawley.
The Yvette Baker Event starts are from 12:00, which we should be there in plenty of time for. I would hope we will be there early enough for adult hangers-on to get a run around, and to report back to everyone about the area.
Course details are:
Yvette Baker Trophy
Colour Length (km) Climb(m) No. of Controls
Yellow 2.3 25 9
Orange 3.5 45 12
Light Green 3.9 50 9
Green 5.2 70 13
Everyone will need to wear a race number that I collect (together with safety pins to attach them to your tops) on the morning. Control descriptions will be available just before you start, and you’ll get your maps/courses after you punch the start box.
The map is 1:10,000 (attached) A4 on waterproof paper and I think your courses will all be in the north west corner, so don’t go over the motorway or onto the golf course unless you are really sure you are supposed to. There’s lots of paths & junctions, too, so make sure you stay in touch with the map & keep it set – it will be very easy to take the wrong one!!
You will need to remember:
Your dibber
Your compass
Change of clothes
Warm & dry clothes
Extra clothes!
Money for lunch (if everyone puts £5 into the pot, we can send Mark Garside to town to bring back pizza for everyone)
Drinks & snacks – it’s a long day
Running legs & navigating brain!
For any adults that are coming (there’s plenty of space on the coach if anyone else wants to come!) we will be charging £5 as a contribution towards the cost of hiring the coach. There’s a full range of colour coded courses for you to run with the last start at 12:00pm. Cost is £8 (£2 discount for BOF members).
I’ll get phone numbers off parents before we leave so we can let you know what time we will be back, but the prize giving is due to be at 3pm and we will leave asap after this.
Cath
