By alison, on December 24th, 2018 Walton Chasers will be 50 years old in 2019. The plans to celebrate this milestone are coming together now, and we’d like to include as many past and present club members as we can. Two events are currently being planned. On March 2nd, we’ll be having a club dinner at Brocton Golf Club, the day before a colour coded race on Badgerslade. Then in the summer, on July 13th, we plan to have an urban race in Tamworth, followed by a BBQ.
Places for the club dinner are booking up fast, so if you are a current or past member, please get in touch with Sarah to book your place – see the attached flyer for contact details. We have a limit on numbers, so don’t miss out!

By alison, on October 22nd, 2018 Yesterday was the Compass Sport Cup and Trophy Finals, held at Haywood Warren – congratulations to SYO who won the Cup, and to Interlopers who won the Trophy. Huge thanks to all those involved in the organisation of the day, from those with major roles (Kristian Roberts, Organiser; Sarah & Andy Hind, Planners; and Roger Edwards, Controller), to those runners from adjacent clubs who helped hang controls for us, and to the army of Chasers who worked fantastically well to set up to day before, run the day itself, collect controls, and pack everything away. Thank you everyone!!!
By alison, on October 1st, 2018 The Compass Sport Cup and Trophy comes to Cannock Chase on 21st October, hosted by WCH and we look forwarding to welcoming teams from 26 clubs. The latest version of the final details is now available (any further changes will be advised on the day unless they are significant): CSC Final_Details_V2 091018
Final Start lists (Saturday 20th Oct 11am) by course by club
By alison, on September 2nd, 2018 Chasers were in Somerset over the weekend, competing in the British Sprint Champs on Saturday and the British Middle Champs on Sunday.
The Sprints on Saturday were held at Bath University, based at the fantastic sports village. We had lots of top 10 performances. In the morning, Jonathan won his M65 heat, and Bob was unlucky not to get to the A final, only 43 seconds down on Jon, but in 8th place – it’s tight at the top! Ray finished a solid 4th in his M60 heat. In the afternoon, the finals took place, with Jon continuing his good day, finishing on the podium in 2nd on M65, one better that last year – well done Jon! Bob won his M65B final, Holly got 6th in the W16A final, Cath 4th in the W45A final, and Stodge won the M45B final.
On Sunday, we were at Stockhill near Wells for the Middle Champs. Just the one top ten place today, but a great one. Bob had an excellent run to get 2nd place on M65 – just 2 seconds off 1st place. Well done Bob!
Next year’s Sprints and Middle’s are being organised by our next door club, DVO, so hopefully we’ll see lots more Chasers next September.
