Chasers have been well represented at the annual JK festival, this year in the South East. We had one podium place, Iain Stamp 2nd on M35 at the Sprint Race. Chasers Juniors from Oakridge, Walton High and Weston Road Schools competed in the Staffordshire Schools Championships last week in Stoke on Trent.
Congratulations to all who took part, particularly the Walton Year 9 and 10 students who won the POTOC High School Shield and Oakridge who won the Standon Bowers OEC Junior Shield.

Chasers have 2 Midland Champions after today’s excellent race at Bentley Woods near Atherstone. Tough courses in wonderful spring sunshine saw some great performances, with wins by both Claire Bushnell (W55) and Hazel Waters (W65). Congratulations both!
Our long running spring and summer series of runs, training and events including the coveted domination series competition kicks off on Tuesday 28th March and runs right through to September.
We are having a few land permissions challenges this summer however the club captain and permissions secretary are working hard to bring you a high quality series as normal. Check the website regularly for the latest updates.(perhaps put a link to the club diary in your outlook, apple or google calendar)
On Tuesdays there will be coaching and instruction available if you want it, just courses if you want to walk or run around in the summer sunshine enjoying Cannock Chase at its best.
Thursdays brings mixed ability trail running (or just a walk) on Cannock Chase in groups. We then meet at the Stags Leap in Rugeley for a meal and social (from 8pm)

Total score was 1272, just 2 points ahead of POTOC, and enough to take the win, with Wrekin in 3rd place on 1256 points.

Put the date in your diaries now, and hopefully with our “finishers” to come off the bench (Iain Stamp, Mike Barnby, Em Garside, Ian Hughes, Judith Hughes, Matt Hartland, Gemma Cairns-Smith and more!) we can do ourselves proud 🙂

Huge thanks to Sarah Dredge for again organising the club dinner at Brocton Golf Club. An excellent meal was followed by the annual prize giving and an after dinner speech by Ian from Ultrasport. Now we all know how we should be looking after our O-shoes…..!
