Lichfield Night-O Results – Overall League Final

The final event of the club night-O league was organised in Lichfield by Dave Brown.  Congratulations to Simon who finished the season with seven wins and a perfect score of 175.  In second place is Kelvin and third, just 1 point behind is Jonathan.  In the Ladies, Christine came first followed by Cath and then Mary.  See the full results here… Night-O League 2013 – Final

Not long until the start of the 2014 league – it starts in Stafford on Thursday January 9th.
A couple of rule changes will be made – the first that the event duration will become flexible at 40, 45 or 50 minutes at the organisers discretion.  The reason for this is we are too good at timing our runs perfection and the committee felt a bit of variation may be beneficial.   The second rule change is the results will now score 25, 24, 23, 22, etc.  Not 25, 23, 22, 21 etc.

Rowley Park Night-O Results

CaptureThe penultimate night-O of the year was run on Thursday night from Rowley Park, Stafford.  Minor placings are still up for grabs, but the series winners can’t be beaten  now – Simon for the men and Christine for the women.  Well done both!

Victoria Park Micro Sprint in association with Santa Dash

Santa

For anyone fancying a short but sweet  alternative to Postensplain (or if you start early and fancy a sprint on the way home) there will be a micro sprint O (1km)  around Victoria Park tomorrow with starts from 1pm (ish) to 2pm (ish). Courses suitable for children as they dont leave the park (other than possibly a 10m run along a pavement).

We have limited maps so if its suddenly very popular you may have to wait and share with others.

The event is a tie in with the Stafford Borough Councils Santa Dash – because its an open event and therefore needs to be registered as such for insurance purposes fees will be £2 for adults and £1 for children to cover the levy. Any profit we make will be donated to charity.

Junior Night O Champs plus Thursday Night O Rowley Park

dsc_0013

The Junior Night O Champs will be held on 28th November and is once again in the grounds of Rowley Park which is a small secure park ideal for this sort of thing. This year it will be a linear course of approximately 1.5km (now 1.2km) rather than a score event so basically its a Night O Sprint!

Rowley Park can be a bit muddy so be prepared to slide and if you’re lucky wallow in the mud :) Headtorches are required unless you have rabbit like eyesight or a desire to run into things….ie bring a headtorch:) There is a prize for first Boy and first Girl which are presented at the club awards evening in late January plus I will be giving out random spot prizes…..

Starts are from around 7pm ish and I will be based in the cafe as its warm and dry. Adults are also welcome to do the course for a bit of fun if they wish or sit and keep me company in the cafe.

Seniors (everyone welcome) competing in the Winter Night O League will be heading out into the surrounding streets including the paths near to the Castle which I have had time to map….some of them maybe even accurately.

After the event we will be meeting in the Radford Bank Pub. Everyone is welcome for a pleasant and more importantly cheap carvery supper :)

Kelvin

Barton Night-O Results

Thursday saw another night-O organised by Neil Lawford in Barton-under-Needwood with a great turnout of 15 runners.  Following yet another victory, Simon has extended his lead at the top while in third place Jon has closed up on Kelvin.  In the Ladies race, Rachel is closing in on top place but will end the season one race short if she competes in the final two events, while Christine is still holding on to first place.  Just 2 races to go, with the next at Rowley Park this Thursday.  All to play for….
