British Schools Orienteering Championships

The British Schools Orienteering Championships (BSOC) took place last weekend at Wormley Wood, Broxbourne. Herefordshire. Two schools affiliated to Chasers took part: Oakridge Primary School and Walton High School.

Oakridge proved to be the better team on the day taking a fantastic 1st place in the Primary Boys category and also 3rd place in the Primary Girls category.

Walton High School were unlucky not to take 3rd place in the Lower Secondary Girls category, scoring the same points as 3rd place, but losing out on accumulative time.

Well done to everyone who ran.

SHUOC fund-raiser

Would you like to support Chasers Shuoc girls and ex Shuoc boys? Then read below please

On Saturday the 27th of November, Sheffield University Orienteering and Fell Running Club (ShUOC) are going to run the equivalent of ascending Mount Everest in a relay format. This will involve running up and down “Hero’s Hill” in Sheffield (a hill that is 1.21km long involving 132m height gain) sixty eight times! We are raising money for two charities, the local Mountain Rescue teams and the Teenage and Young Adults Cancer Trust at the Weston Park and Royal Hallamshire Hospitals – these two charities are particularly close to our hearts.

Ingrid and Dan’s (our club captain and treasurer) housemate Ed has recently been diagnosed with a form of cancer, so we’d like to raise as much as we can for the local young people’s cancer trust. Also Mountain Rescue do fantastic work locally and elsewhere, on an entirely voluntary basis, so we would like to show them our support as they do for so many other orienteers and fellrunners!

We have a fundraising page at and any donations are greatly appreciated

I realise some of you may not know us( Rhys and I,but everyone knows Helen, Sophie, Rob and Gaz) but these are two fantastic charities so you can always get your good karma for the day by donating

Thanks in advance

Rach (and the rest of ShUOC)
